CCR Final Video 1. How do your products use or challenge conventions and how do they represent social groups or issues? The things we used that supported our conventions were the lighting and setting of our film. Meanwhile, the thing that challenged our convention was the lighting. In a horror film, it is normal to have a "scary" looking setting. Due to this, we chose our setting to be mainly in the woods. We also edited our film to have darker lighting. It appears to be more suspenseful and unsettling when the lighting is low-key. We used elements of cinematography when filming as well. We used certain angles and shots to get the best product when filming. We used long shots when the main character was walking her dog. We soon after switched to close-up shots when she was getting kidnapped to increase the amount of suspense. Our products represent a very important issue nowadays; girls getting kidnapped. Editing Update

Post-production is going fairly well right now. However, our rough cut did not meet the 1:30 requirement. We cut down too many clips and took out some clips that shouldn't have been taken out. We will need to go back and revise this before our final cut is submitted. We have to add background music and some more sound effects as well. We didn't have a postproduction schedule, to begin with, however, this is not affecting us as we all know when we can plan on finishing up editing.  This is our rough cut.

Production Update #2

We now have all of our footage to begin editing. One crucial member of our filming crew got sick which made us unable to follow our schedule. We didn't follow our film schedule exactly. We expected the filming process to take a lot less time than it actually did. Filming took a lot of time. Setting up the shots with the perfect lighting, props, costumes, angles, etc. took time. We had to do multiple takes just in case as well. For example, when Alley was filming the news clip, we had to redo it multiple times. The sound was very low and the wind was very loud. Multiple takes are very necessary.  These are just a few clips from production.

Production Update #1

We are almost halfway done filming as of February 21st. Unfortunately, we have not stuck to our production schedule. We have all of our props necessary as well as the settings scouted out. We have filmed all of the home scenes on the 18th. This includes the news broadcast itself, the girl sitting on the couch watching the news, as well as the girl getting her dog to go on a walk. We had planned to film the woods scenes on the 19th. However, that did not happen. We plan on filming the woods scenes tomorrow (the 22nd). We plan to review our footage altogether on the 23rd. If any scene needs to be redone, we will film it again.
