Pre-production Plan

For our final project, we are creating a short intro to a horror film. We are going to start this film with a girl sitting down to watch the news. There is going to be an interruption of a breaking news warning. We will inform the people that there have been many missing person reports going out recently. The girl will then get up from her couch, go into the woods and take her dog on a walk. During this walk, someone will be in the woods acting as a "kidnapper". The girl will walk in the trail cluelessly and later get kidnapped. The setting of our story is in a house but mainly in the woods. The kidnapper in the woods will be wearing all dark clothes to portray the "bad guy". The girl will be wearing bright clothes to show she is the protagonist. We will be filming on an iPhone camera. We won't be using any props in our short intro. 

For the setting, we will be shooting in Amory's neighborhood. We will start the film at her house. This is where the girl will be watching television. The girl will be in the living room lounging. She will be watching the news. This is where she will figure out the breaking news. She will then get up to take the dog on a short walk. We will film the walking portion on a trail in the woods. For all of our clips, we will not be disclosing the address of Amory or her neighbors. The neighborhood is private so it should be easy to gain access to the trail at any given time. It should be fairly easy to find a quiet time to film in the house as well. Along with this, no one else will be shown in the film that doesn't offer their consent.

There are many benefits to creating a storyboard for a film. A storyboard is used as a rough guide to follow when shooting the film. It helps you to visualize your learning design. Through storyboarding, you can identify your design weaknesses. A storyboard also makes it easier to budget efficiently. Our storyboard for our first shot is very simple. Our first shot is going to the main girl sitting down on a couch, watching the news. This is when the plot gets revealed. 

                                      

For our project, it involves Amory, Alley, and I. There are multiple jobs that need to fulfilled. Amory will be the chosen cinematographer. She chose this role because she likes to film. She would rather film than be featured in the film. Next, Alley will be the editor. Alley created the storyboard and prefers the behind-the-scenes aspect of filmmaking. Amory and Alley combined will be the directors. I chose to be the main actress in the film. I will also be the scriptwriter. Amory will help out partially as well though. We decided on these roles very carefully on what we like doing best.
