Script Final Draft

 

*girl sitting on living room couch not paying attention, sitting on phone* 


*breaking news comes on about a recent missing persons case* 


Reporter: "Breaking news! Multiple missing persons cases reported within the last 24 hours. Be aware of your surroundings and stay safe out there everyone!" 


*dog starts barking* 


Girl: "alright scout time to go on a walk" 


*girl leaves phone on counter, grabs leash and takes dog for a walk* 


*quiet dramatic music begins* 


*girl walks into woods with dog* 


*camera pans to fake bloody arm dragging away into bushes* 


*girl does not see this and continues to walk dog* 


*she hears rustling in the bushes, looks around but sees nothing* 


*music stops and starts again (this time louder and faster)* 


*killer runs up to her and covers her mouth while dragging her away*

CCR Script

   1. How do your products use or challenge conventions and how do they represent social groups or issues? The things we used that supported our conventions were the lighting and setting of our film. Meanwhile, the thing that challenged our convention was the lighting. In a horror film, it is normal to have a "scary" looking setting. Due to this, we chose our setting to be mainly in the woods. We also edited our film to have darker lighting. It appears to be more suspenseful and unsettling when the lighting is low-key. We used elements of cinematography when filming as well. We used certain angles and shots to get the best product when filming. We used long shots when the main character was walking her dog. We soon after switched to close-up shots when she was getting kidnapped to increase the amount of suspense. Our products represent a very important issue nowadays; girls getting kidnapped. Editing Update

Post-production is going fairly well right now. However, our rough cut did not meet the 1:30 requirement. We cut down too many clips and took out some clips that shouldn't have been taken out. We will need to go back and revise this before our final cut is submitted. We have to add background music and some more sound effects as well. We didn't have a postproduction schedule, to begin with, however, this is not affecting us as we all know when we can plan on finishing up editing.  This is our rough cut.

Pre-production Plan

For our final project, we are creating a short intro to a horror film. We are going to start this film with a girl sitting down to watch the news. There is going to be an interruption of a breaking news warning. We will inform the people that there have been many missing person reports going out recently. The girl will then get up from her couch, go into the woods and take her dog on a walk. During this walk, someone will be in the woods acting as a "kidnapper". The girl will walk in the trail cluelessly and later get kidnapped. The setting of our story is in a house but mainly in the woods. The kidnapper in the woods will be wearing all dark clothes to portray the "bad guy". The girl will be wearing bright clothes to show she is the protagonist. We will be filming on an iPhone camera.
